These two tie rods don’t even look the same. It would seem that a quick look, without needing to actually measure, would give a person the answer as to which size they have. However, the boot may preclude that visual. So, which is the newer, beefier version? The other $64K question is, when in 2023 did they make the change? My R1T was a July build with delivery in early September.

I know that the tie rods changed sometime in 2023. I have a Gen 1 2023 R1S and ordered some tie rod braces (Busterbrace from Broncbuster) for off roading. The braces did not fit my larger braces and the original design of the tie rods were used as a template for the braces.
What is your build date?

BTW, I put the Broncobrace on the 16mm tie rods and they only fit if I purchased longer M6 bolts. I off road in Colorado and really, really don't want to bust a tie rod on a 7200 lb vehicle. Plus having the braces can be very useful in rescue and recovery situations (which I am involved in) for other vehicles. I know the risks for the steering rack so no need to comment on that potential.

Thanks for this. I bought the same because of the info you’ve posted, and installed tonight.
