Beautifull truck, but I read dealers are able to put whatever markup they want? Watch the greed

107K is a lot but Rivian's already basically up to 97K (when I look at just my config.) Some of us got pretty lucky but for a 10K difference I'd have that GMC. You get more range, more standard interior layout, better deliverable power, carplay, a clever bed, and supercruise which frankly beats everything right now that's not a geofenced Waymo.

That said, it is pricey as all get out, At the R1's original pricing (and the tax credit it qualified for) the price difference would have been more like 45k, and the R1 was priced like a steal (at something like 5k more than a model Y, a significantly less capable vehicle). If they actually can save some money in their manufacturing it seems like their overall material usage should favor the ability to deliver a more competitive price again (more efficient on smaller batteries, more in house parts, etc.)

All car dealers can put whatever price they want on their vehicles.

Just like individuals.

I expect supply and demand will be more in balance in ~18 months when Sierra EV hits dealer lots and shortly thereafter there will be small discounts off MSRP.

The truck looks amazing and seems to have every feature I could want and more. I love my Rivian, but who knows maybe in a few years I could be tempted by this. Probably wouldn't at the moment given the price (especially given the price I got my Rivian at) but things could change if I needed something bigger for my family. I would definitely pick the Sierra over the Lightning, hands down even if it is more expensive. Loving the competition this brings and hopefully all of this will further develop the charging infrastructure

+1. Feels like the Fed has already made some balance occur in the car, real estate, and equities markets. The anomaly was 25 bps Fed Fund rate which made us all look like wealthy geniuses.

IMO, traditional car dealers were dreaming when they felt the post Covid make everyone order vehicles and wait at MSRP+ rather than stock inventory would stick long term.

It's really too bad electric cars don't exist today. They could be so nice.

I was just being a bit "salty", and yes, if I recall the cost to make those was astronomical.......oh well.
