Just curious, is there any way RIVIAN can get something like the following to bolster the plans in GA? Unlike Ford, which is seemingly taking the path of a very much delayed transition to EV, RIVIAN is an EV company that will certainly make better use of this type of financing. As an investor, I think a plan like this will get the wheels rolling to profitability more than other financing options, assuming the loan rate is purposefully favorable.

While the R2/R3 news yesterday was good, it also seems like GA is on hold for a while. While that means a quicker delivery of my newly reserved R2, I expect production numbers for R2 will be nowhere near where they could be compared to a full investment in the GA plant.

The GA plant is the path this company needs to take in order to become a global player (assuming overseas production facilities aren't on the table), Illinois only production is a recipe for mediocre gains in production for the next half a decade. We are currently in the window when ramping appears unwise, but will look like a brilliant move in a few short years. Ramping up production It is the hardest hurdle that an EV manufacturer will face, and only a few have made it across the finish line (all but one is based in China).

I feel like any government loan now would be possible only if Rivian was a UAW shop. I don’t think that’s worth it.

I think we have zero idea of what's actually happening internally.
I'm POSITIVE Rivian has a 5 and 10 year plan.

They know what they need to do, what they need to execute, and how to get from where they are now to scale for infinite growth. RJ talks VERY CONFIDENTLY about indefinite growth anytime he's interviewed.

We all need to stop putting our two cents in when, factually, we have zero actual understanding of what's going on internally--and before you challenge that, how many of you knew the R3 and R3X reveal was happening at the same time as the R2? That's what I thought.

Just. Stop.

Rivian is fine.

Startups are pretty much designed to hemorrhage money (sacrifice near term profits for long term growth). How long did many other startups work in the red until they started coming net positive? Look at how long Peloton hung on (and they're still in business mind you) making no profits whatsoever. MANY people in THIS forum come to threads like this and try to compare early days of Tesla to where Rivian is. Right, wrong, or indifferent, there were doubters at these points in any startups history.

Rivian is still cash positive and have plans. Anything anyone debates on these forums is uninformed and pessimistic for no reason whatsoever, other than seeking the hivemind echo chamber that is these forums. Opining about what you think is best for Rivian is moot unless you're on their board or are one of their principal investors.

FACT: no one here has started a successful business like Rivian, in any way, shape or form. Your cute little LLCs don't count either.

Condescending comments are wholly unnecessary and not in the spirit of a forum. Your opinions are no better or worse than anyone else’s.
By the way, Wallstreet folks were stating Rivian had an 18 month cash supply at the burn-rate just prior to the announcement of pausing on the Georgia plant development. Concern is most certainly warranted and RJ does have to communicate his plans. Otherwise investors will disappear and with it goes working capital. Just look at where stock prices have gone. Not optimal for scaling up.
