And Hyundai/Kia are also threats. Our policy should create a semblance of a level playing field in this worldwide market. America’s technological prowess, labor, and future affluence depend on winning a significant role. Only the US federal government can help level the playing field. This loan is a fiscally prudent way to do it.Same way South Korea subsidize their industries, as part of their greater national economic and security policy. It's “OMG BAD!" when China does it simply because they are a socialist state and an adversary, with history of a hot proxy war against the US (Korean War, a war that never really ended). US foreign & trade policy is rife with double standards.
It is not about China or SK, it is about letting an American company, using American Design Tech compete on something approaching a level playing field and win using American labor.
