I would hand in Rivian, Starlink, and Amazon if it meant more people had a say in the future.

And if you were being honest with yourself, you’d admit that you aren’t willing to do the same.
We all do as consumers. But correct, I don't want average Joe to have billions and to be responsible for shaping the future. I'll trust the people that have made their wealth through the collective faith of all of us in their enterprises.

Damn man. I didn’t realize you were trolling. Fell for that one.

I don’t think this thread is very productive haha. But I also am not seeing a lot of jealously in it.
People criticizing RJ's compensation package are absolutely jealous. Every single one would take the same deal if they were offered it. Of course they have not been offered it because they have not accomplished anything olose to what RJ has accomplished. Right?

I am not angry because I am not upset that RJ is getting paid what he is worth. Are you?

Is someone who posts stuff like this angry?

lol
Out of context and not even from this thread.

It looks like you searched the history of all my posts just to find one you could use against me. Get a life. Maybe move out of your mom's basement.

Can we get off the personal attacks, and back to the subject of this thread?

Thanks, all!

How many people in this thread are stock holders and had the chance to vote on his package?

RJ, getting the payment he deserves....

I'm not sure how much more he puts into his job than the average American. Does he work 8,000 times harder than the average American, than you do?

Sure he deserves to be paid well for being in his position but looking over his payment composition history he already owns a good portion of stock. Yes he's the founder and CEO and that goes with the territory but if the stock goes back up to $150/share, how much does his current personal net worth go up to? Does he need another 400 million on top of that?

I don't think the thread is about jealousy as has been mentioned. I took it more as a question of our society and how much is enough? How much money does one really need? How specialized is any job that their pay structure/package makes it "deserving" of "earning" hundreds of millions of dollars of tax free income.

The people who are paying him get to decide how much he needs. As it should be.

The Rivian Board decides how much to pay him, and themselves.

I take it you're not a stock holder or you didn't read your voting paperwork.

I am a stock holder. Obviously my vote has little impact but the opinion of shareholders does matter. Do you happen to know who is on the board?

Regardless, if Rivian doesn't do well neither does RJ. I think the incentives are appropriate, especially since I would like the stock price to get above my break even point one day. Which is a long way away right now.

The point is only the board has a right to decide, not you. If the shareholders don't like it, there are ways to influence the board to make changes that fix it.

Those who are most impacted by RJ's failure are the ones who have a right to complain about it and do something about it. And since they have more to lose than you do, it is the most fair way to do it.

"Society" deciding what RJ should be paid is not a fair way to do it at all.
