Hatch makes popping noise when opening

I am curious about anyone else having hatch making popping noise upon opening. At begining of open cycle the top of the roof and the top of the hatch come together at about 12 inches from the drivers side on the upper most part of the hatch. When this occurs it makes a terrible popping noise as plastic binds and slips by itself, it is making a slight paint abrasion at same area. I have moved the hatch outward or toward the rear adjusting the hinge to give clearance it reduced it significantly but it appears the two pieces of plastic need to be heated and warped away from one another. Ideas?

I have the same problem and I also adjusted the hatch, but it still happens. It seems to happen more frequently when it's hot out. I will probably log a ticket with Rivian to get it fixed.

Same same. I have a ticket in to get it looked at, along with some other issues. I have had my R1S for about 6 weeks now, and I only started noticing this 2-3 weeks ago. It’s bad enough that about 10% of the time, the liftgate will sense so much resistance that it will stop and close back. I also have a warped edge on the rearward panel, with a dip in the middle.
