Tests have suggested that taping off the "ports" in the roof spoiler when a RTT is mounted improves efficiency. The theory is that it is putting more air over the top instead of trying to jam it into the tent.

Seems like somebody with a scanner & printer could make a snap-in closeout for those ports...?

Do you have a printer? I have a scanner, and could get a scan of those areas pretty easily.

I just realized, a buddy at work has a printer! I'll pick his brain and buy some filament for him. Does anyone have a CAD file for a whole Rivian? I think he can play with that and make it work.

A bit like the 21" aero covers, even if printed with flexible TPU, it's probably going to rub and scratch finish of spoiler?

I am eager to get a more elegant solution to the way I am tackling the problem right now.

Lol

It's a truck, and it got Oregon pinstriping down both sides the first week I had it from being in the woods. I am definitely a function over form guy, so the marks from aero covers don't bother me, neither will the marks from an aero block out.

That said, mark's left by roof block outs are going to be tough to see, unless you are in the bed looking down at them.

I knew you wouldn't mind. But some people do. And if they do, they should be aware. See threads of people freaking out over what the aero covers do.

One idea would be adhesive felt on contact points...?

Just to clarify - are we talking about the crossbar mounting ports?
If yes - that's on todo and will get to it rather soon actually, and possibly I will be able to injection mold it (we got our first molder this past Monday yupeee! now figuring out how to make mold designs that work).

No, we are talking about the spoiler air redirect ports. Refer to this picture, where I have them taped off:
