On my last 2 weekend ski trips my estimate on arrival was higher in AP than it was in conserve. Has anyone else seen this?

Yes at least on gen1 this is normal: my car usually estimates about 270s for all purpose and low 300s for conserve. On a ski drive I ll get about 280 unless it is below 20 the entire drive.

Oops, I typed it wrong and just fixed it. It actually shows better range in all purpose than in conserve when I put it in the NAV and look at the arrival estimate for range.

I have not but they do capture data from driving in those modes so if you had some low m/kWh in conserve I could see hoe it might do that. You can try resetting the range and let it start collecting the data again. It is only an estimater, it seems closer than my Tesla on range but the navigation seems to estimate a trip better and has the added benefit of updating the numbers so if it looks like you might not make it you can adjust your speed.

I only use conserve on open stretches of highway and I usually see about 10% difference when switching modes.

in AP, you’re capturing a bit more energy than in conserve due to the rear motors being available for the task.
If your navigation is anticipating there being opportunities for regen, I would see the arrival estimate being higher in AP because in conserve the rear motors are disengaged.

They would make sense, but even when the trip is a net elevation gain with little downhill it’s doing this. It didn’t do this a month ago. Seems odd.

How do you reset the range?

The NAV recalculates based on very recent kwh used. If you switch back and forth it may not have time to recalculate effectively is my guess.

In the Energy screen click on the range based on tile, it brings up the range based on different modes. You can click on reset history and it will default to the original values and start collecting new data.

Been enjoying it for 2 years but when it says I’ll arrive in AP with 15 miles and I switch over to Conserve and it says I’ll arrive with 2, something isn’t working correctly and it could make for unneeded charging stops.
