The hydraulic sway bar on the R1T is an advantage off-road. The throttle mapping in crawl mode sure helps too. Doesn't look like CT has either of those.

I'm not a fan of the CT, but it's a single video with who-knows-how-many variables unknown (tires, pressures, intent, driver experience, etc). And in the end, it made it up the incline after the driver took a better line.

I'm not sure why everyone is so fired up about this.

The vehicle I had those tires on was much lighter than a Rivian or CT, but it was bad enough I wouldn't buy them again. Every winter stoplight had a pucker factor of 10 that year.

This is my first winter with my Rivian so I might be in the same boat you are. I'll give the Pirellis a chance though.
I was really pleased with the Pirellis last winter, but that was when I had >11/32" of tread. I'm down to <7 now and not excited to try that again.

I don't get it either.. a bunch of man babies whining to project their insecurities. I guess they have to repeatedly justify how much better their Rivian is and poopoo everything else.

I very much dislike the CTs styling as well, but honestly? Competition is good (in before "HARHARHAR, this ugly thing is NOT a competitor to Rivian"). Fine, but the more EVs (in general) on the road, the better for all of the reasons: 1- Driving innovation 2- increasing demand for infrastructure 3- better for the environment, etc etc etc.

Listen guys, I'm getting secondhand embarrassment from the lambasting of everything that doesn't suit your narrative. We're all better than this. Let's sing kumbaya and get along.

I bet dollars to donuts if you guys encounter a CT on the trail in the future, you're not going to laugh and point, because that person standing in front of you is proud of his or her pride and joy and you guys are now alone in the woods... not saying you'll get a rock to the skull, but not saying it's smart to throw stones either. So, knock off the holier-than-thou keyboard warrior nonsense. You're not that tough. And move onto the next "I'm superior because" circlejerk. I get it, you are in an echo chamber, but seriously.

If we all focus on what we have in common moreso than what sets us apart, the world would be a better place. I'll go first: my Volvo V60 couldn't have climbed that hill! SO, now I've seen 2 stock vehicles roll out of the factory and make it up there on their on efforts. SWEET!

You just haven’t lived until you have slid, completely out of control, through a stop light in the snow, in a fully loaded 37,000 lb school bus full of screaming children,

Dude, the OP post was a quick “Ha ha” moment - nothing more and nothing less.
I have sat back and watched in amazement what followed. A true Freudian moment in social media.

If you watch the video it makes it up the obstacle, so how did it fail?
I never said it failed, did I?

I'm just a guy posting memes man. Don't blame the meme.

We have a similar obstacle here at an off-road park in Michigan, and I was able to get up it with my stock 22s after a couple line choice changes. The second time I went with the KO2s and barely had any tire spin going up it.

After watching the video, one Rivian R1T owner decided to re-do the climb in his truck. He also recorded the climb from the same angles Cybertruck was filmed. It doesn't take a lot of off-road experience to realize that the Rivian was much better than the Cybertruck. The R1T graciously climbs the stairs as if they weren't there. The driver, who identifies as omg_Tesla/Rivian (@omg_tesla) on X (formerly Twitter), repeats the climb, stopping repeatedly exactly as the Cybertruck did.

Wow. Take your own advice and settle down a little bit. No one here elected you president of the thought police and I know you're not my father.

I can't speak to anyone else but I'm not at all threatened or offended about the Cybertruck nor do I particularly dislike Elon. In fact I'm probably in the minority here who think he's done a better job with X than the assholes who ran it before like a total partisan shit hole.

With that said I bag on the cybertruck because I enjoy doing it. The thing is so fucking ugly I can't believe in all the design meetings it somehow made it to production (maybe). Not everyone here who rips on a cybertruck is up in their feels about it, at least not to the degree you are about us bagging on it.

Just as you have your opinion we have ours and for whatever reason we choose to have it. We certainly don't need the propaganda department in here pushing newspeak. So I'm going to give you the same advice I got when I got sick of all the people whining about carplay from the admin here "if you don't like what is said stay out of the thread or scroll on".
