Hitch brake light options?

I saw a couple threads with people discussing doing mods to brake light etc but has anyone found a simple hitch brake light option (to use when RTT blocking regular 3rd brake light)?
I tried a Maxxhaul light (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F7RZVWB) with an adapter (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M18QTHY) and the truck doesn't recognize/power it.

Not for this purpose, but I used this one once with the same adapter you listed and worked perfectly.

Those combination turn/brake light seem to often be problematic with newer trucks. Maybe try one that is advertised as a brake light only?

Also, Brake/Turn combination worked great as well. I had to use some magnetic lights once since the UHAUL I rented decided to loose one of the lights and it was dark outside already.... Bought a Walmart one and worked perfectly (same connector)

I've used different lights with that adapter and it should work. Are you sure that its plugged into the trailer plug all the way. the spring cover sometimes will catch on the adapter and stop it before its inserted all the way in. You'll know it in when you cannot pull the adapter back out from the truck without having to lift the cover

I tried three different LED brake/turn strip lights on my Gen 2. Had intermittent functionality. Rivian service told me many LED auxiliary lights have an incompatible electrical resistance. As a final try I bought a set of boat trailer lights. That is working fine. I mount it under my roof top tent when I have that on the truck.

Did you use that light on a Gen 1 or Gen 2. I had an LED light strip that worked on my Gen 1 but then did not work when I got a Gen 2.

Turns out just pushing harder did the trick - VERY tight fit. Still not past the catch on the cover but far enough to work now. Thanks!
