(since negative comments online tend to outweigh the positive ones) I would say after my 6 mos of ownership, I really like it! No regrets.

2024 R1T DM, Large, off road package

I was a sports car guy and didn't think an EV was in my future for another 10 years. I went in anxious about range and reliability the most. I was not worried about service. Funny enough, I now find that these things have flipped. Range and reliability have been great. Service is the nagging concern.

There are a few imperfect items on mine; the dash rattle (fixed by mobile), the chattery suspension (I'll deal with it someday) and my paint isn't on par with the last 10 years of European cars I've owned but the actual mechanical performance of the R1, the ease of use with charging (get a home charger!) and just overall feel that you are driving something appropriate for the year 2024, its great! I dig it! I would do it again 100%.

You can read a lot of things online and come up with a long list of "what ifs". If you're the type who really wants everything to be perfect, be prepared. If you're more excited by the idea of something different than the last 100 years of cars and can tolerate some nuances, yes, the R1 is great and legit off road capable. Rivian also seems to be a pretty conscientious company. They just need to triple the number of service centers pronto!

I took delivery of 2025 R1S dual Motor Max - All Terrain September 3rd. I sold a 2022 AWD Model 3 Long Range to get the R1S. My difference - Model 3 is more of a sports car. R1S is a SUV with sports car feel and drive. Model 3 interior is minimal. R1S is definitely luxury. Ride adjustment is amazing. Range better than Model 3. Both have OTA updates. In my opinion Musk has damaged the brand and I will never purchase another Tesla. There are other EVs out there. I just prefer Rivian and what the company represents. The customer service with Tesla was awful and their guides always seemed to BS and give a I don’t care attitude. So far Rivian guides and online chat representives have been responsive, knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. The face of a company does make a difference. And what the owner of a company speaks loud and clear makes a difference of where i spend my money.
He hasn't damaged the brand, he has actually expanded their addressable market by appealing to a wider customer base. They just reported record Q3 sales volume.

That's a fact.
SMH Good Grief Charlie Brown! Move on this is a Rivian Forum!!
