I never knew that about boat trailers. TIL.No weight distribution hitch on boat trailer, as you say. I’ve used these on other trailers before so I know them well.
Physics-wise, I know you're right.5000 pounds doesn’t need a WD hitch on most any truck…or 7000 ?. I towed this boat on a Silverado 1500 with no issues, and did so at highway speed.
Warranty/liability-wise, the manual says in unequivocal terms:
We're a year away from towing anything over 5,000lbs so I'm just now starting to pay close attention to what people are posting and asking their experiences. And also asking their thoughts on this part of the owners manual if they'd happened to have read it.The R1T can tow up to 11,000 lbs (4989 kg) using a weight distributing hitch, and up to 5,000 lbs (2267 kg) using a standard hitch.
