I have an early vin R1T that suffered the wheel tock until they added the updated half shelf washers.

The truck suspension is still loud (loose/squeaky) but doesn't bother me too much as it's a truck, and I am a Kansas farm boy, so it sounds like all my trucks.

That said, I get a "groaning tapping sound" like a heavy metal on metal vibration from the left rear when accelerating and turning to the right and similar up front left when decelerating and turning left... It may also sound like the left since I am always driver side.

I took a quick look at the control arms but don't see anything concerning. Are the infamous "cracked subframes" something that should be obvious or do you need to remove panels to see the welds of concern?

I also can't reliably reproduce the sound either (because it's usually under rare hard acceleration), so don't want to waste my time taking it in until I know if there is a problem or not.

I have a mid 2022 build and plan to remove the front and rear lower panels and inspect as many welds as I can see for fractures. Some of the photos I have seen of the subframe welds are some pretty poor hand made welds.

Similar symptoms to my R1T. Similar previous half shaft repairs. Didn’t help. Replaced subframe and front drive unit. After two and one half hour drive home same problems returned.
