Is it OK to keep the height setting low when driving around town?

Same. Kneel wasn't low enough to allow me to exit without "sliding" across the seat.

I bought the super cheap EVBase boards. They're hot garbage products in terms of metal quality, appearance and durability.....BUT.....They hold my weight and work as a step. If I get 3 seasons out of them I'll be impressed. Luckily that's how long the lease is :D
I got the Weistec rock sliders. Not cheap but very sturdy and I like the look. Hope they last a long time cuz I own my Rivian.

Adventure on.

It's really annoying to have to wait for kneeling to happen. Is it OK to drive around town (up to 55 mph) on city streets with the suspension set to stay as low as possible? Neither of us likes to have to jump down from the seats or climb up. My wife just had a knee replacement 2 days ago so the issue has become more salient. We have a gen2 R1S dual max.
Our R1S has lived in Low suspension setting for over 35k miles. No unusual tire wear. Had to replace the OE 22" tires at 17k miles due to a blister on a side wall. Been on Michelin LTX M/S2 for the almost 20K miles or so (two tire rotations).

I have used standard and high on Snow and off road mode twice for very short distances. Only use lowest on Conserve mode on the freeway road trips. Lowest lacks damping.

Just be wary if you use low and soft that you'll probably bottom out your air springs on any decent bumps. It doesn't have the travel to absorb much movement. If you can feel something like an impact in the floor that feels like something's loose in the suspension, that's what it is and you need to either increase your height or make the dampers stiffer.

I'd go along with others here and suggest some steps instead.

Kneel mode will be changing with the next update. Supposed to go a bit lower and can be dropped while still in motion at under 20mph.

Otherwise I put Goat Fabrication steps on mine right away as none of us are high steppers.

Just do what I do (with my Jeep)....put it in the low mode about 10 seconds before you park. Then the suspension will be done adjusting by the time you're ready to exit the vehicle.

I broke my (left) ankle last year, and struggled at first, but I also then realized I could set the SEAT to auto adjust to the lowest setting when you put it in park (I think thats the "roomy exit and entry" setting), and that made a world of difference pulling myself up into the seat without use of one foot. I also had it kneel too, and never had to wait very long for that.... I didn't do anything fast with only one leg usable, so maybe that's why it wasn't annoying. I also find both settings very useful after a long steep trail run where my legs are too tired to climb in (I'm only 5'5")

Did you do the install yourself? Had a hell of a time getting torx bolts loosened and then torqued back to spec. Did it in 45 degree weather.

Yes, all by myself. Was pretty straightforward. I did it in much nicer weather though!

I've already done that with the seat, really helps. Not available for the passenger tho. Used to be a trail runner, back before my knees went out 27 years ago. Got replacements 5 years ago. My knees are now my youngest and most reliable joints.
