Got dark, wanted to finish cutting some slabs from the sawmill into firewood. Drove the truck over, turned on the headlights... but can't figure a way to keep them turned on when no-one is in the vehicle. Tried leaving the driver door ajar. Lights still turn off after a minute or so. I didn't see anything under "Camping". Ended up parking sideways with the driver-side mirror light on in camping mode. Is it even possible to keep the headlights on?

Get a seatbelt buckled in the front seat. That should keep the truck alive.

Or Show and Tell option.

Just had a similiar issue. Had to change a flat tire for my daughter on her car at night on Interstate shoulder. Needed the headlights to stay on. Wound up having her sit in car and taping brake every time they shut off. Seems like this should be an easy option in headlight options.

Does the headlight control not have an on mode instead of auto? I ran in to the same stupidity trying work at the tailgate and the over head light kept turning off. The car is filled with things like this from people who haven't thought out working, camping and trailering.

Yes, it has an "always on" mode, available on the left driver stalk switch that controls the lights. However, "always on" is only always on while someone is in the driver's seat, or maybe either front seat.

If you look at the original post, it's already been tried and doesn't have an option for the headlights.

Is there some other trick that goes with this? I tried it a few days ago and by itself it didn't seem to work. I buckled the driver's seat; didn't try the passenger. Ended up using show and tell.
