Hello - we went with the 21s at time of vehicle purchase, which was a mistake that I figured I rectify now that it's time to switch them out. I think I'm going to go with the MSW type 52 and 275/65/20 tires to try and match 21" config. Probably going with the Toyo Open Country AT3s. I'm having trouble looking for an installer. I'm in the Poughkeepsie area and stopped in Arlington Tires, and my conversation with the counter person did not inspire confidence. I'm wondering if any of you out there might recommend a place? The closest Discount Tire (America's Tire) up here is in PA. Thanks.

I used Mavis in Arlington successfully. Just be present and talk with the technician to be sure they are familiar with lifting vehicle. Very happy and guaranteed.

I don't have info about your specific area, but have used Costco for mine (I think they have locations nearly everywhere, right?) and they have overall been great. Same with nearly everyone, I'd recommend bringing your own jack pucks. They're supposed to have their own but couldn't find them and used mine once or twice and used their own a couple times. Independent shops likely won't have them at all.

...all that said, I've been on the 21s since new in 2022 and changed to the newly-released Michelin tires in the 21" size last summer. Overall, I've been quite impressed with them!

Thanks for the tip, will be calling them to check. Do you know if they do alignments as well? I'm getting uneven tire wear which is main reason why I'm switching tires.

I was dead set on switching to the 20s for future flexibility but a set of Michelin Defenders is $1600 vs $3500 for the 20" rim/tire set. How are they for driving on the crappy pothole filled roads?

I think they're awesome, but don't have 20s to compare to. I use them around town, have taken them off-roading, drive "spiritedly" with them in sport mode... So far, I have yet to find a weak spot.

I was going to switch to 20s until the Michelin came out. Once they came out with their awesome tread wear warranty, it removed all motivation for me to switch.
