Some people take the cables off the hanger if they couldn't get the stations to work. I have no idea where this behavior stems from and it's such a bad idea.
Seems like a box of black plastic garbage bags and a package of zip ties should be a part of the arsenal of any "road warrior". It would get the point across. If it wouldn't fit over the stanchion, you could bag all or part of the charging cable and plug.

We have free L2 chargers at our local college. I find the same thing, chargers left on the ground, one Tesla one which will no longer accept the adapter due to someone apparently running over the end (still works for a Tesla). Yesterday I went to charge and a Nissan Leaf was in the spot and wasn’t even plugged in to charge. I left a note on his windshield to please move his car after charging. Hope that helps. Glad the owner did not come out while I was there, would have been hard not to say something to them. Poor manners like others have said. No respect for a free service.

I have a feeling like earthlings are basically a write off in the big scheme of things.

Its probably near the point where either the creation (Gaia) or the creator (aliens/simulation/god) is thinking a reset is in order. For the sake of wildlife I hope they conclude that its just an infestation problem and not to do a full reset like they did last time.

ChargePoint does this right? When I use free ChargePoints near me I still have to scan my card to activate.
I've only had hands-on experience with one particular L2 Chargepoint location. But, yes, that one I had to unlock with my virtual CP card in Apple Wallet before I can lift the nozzle out of its cradle.

Can I make a suggestion that is completely ridiculous? What if we go back in time and put the cords on the cars instead of the chargers and then use the European model of plug availability in charging areas? They'll take care of the cords then, no?

But probably a mfr's nightmare. Anyone have an automatic pool cleaner with a cord? Probably not a solution. nvm
