My drivers side mirror was frozen closed tonight. The passenger side opened fine. I hope it recovers.

I definitely think the rearview mirror heat source is gone. No difference there relative to the rest of the windshield.
Thinking about the slipping, I left a big pile of snow behind the rear tires to provide a block. Now those blocks are 4 inches of solid ice!
My driveway looks to be about as steep as yours, I parked while just snowy, so sliding was definitely not going to be a factor seemingly.

How did the door handles operate with the ice?
Had a lot of ice here the past few days, as well. Door handles were "crunchy" but opened. The folding mirrors didn't unfold, however. Had to push on them to break up the ice, then fold and unfold them again.

And the "courtesy wipe" with the Automatic Wipers setting was horrible. Loud crunch and ice dragged all across the windshield. Note to self: Turn that off on icy days until the windshield and "trough" is fully thawed.

It was a fun drive in it this morning. No garbage can were harmed during sliding episodes.
There were all kinds of black ice on Iowa roads this week. My R1T
behaved flawlessly whether all wheels were on it or just one side. Instantanious torque vectoring, if that was the factor, really worked. 7300 pounds of vehicle going in a straight line, and the gyroscopic stability of four 90 pound wheels at road speed also could help. Together, the results were outstanding.
Im running new 21 inch tires on the stock OEM design which are more than good for winter.

Working in The Mountains of Clinton County, PA I found a wee bit of ice & lots of snow  Went up Kettle Creek Rd & Circled back down Tamarack Rd (Hwy 144). Beautiful Country up there ?

I made the foolish choice to leave my T plugged in. I had to run a propane heater at it for ~10 minutes to melt enough ice to get the charge panel shut. Hopefully it's ok - sounds a little crunchy opening/closing. I also cleared the ice from the mirrors and handles before I tried to unlock it. Ran defrost for 10 minutes as well. It's still pretty encased but I figure it will either warm up like they are calling for or else I won't go anywhere tomorrow either!

Edit: clarifying charge port comments.
There was a post here https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/...rproof-bag-and-tpe-charging-port-cover.20706/

of a charge port cover that would make it easy to pull the charger handle out when covered with ice. @BestEvMod(AOSK) is that getting released soon?
