In case any ones curious how the iKamper X Cover 2.0 looks or fits on the R1S. The tent is sitting more forward than I’d like and probably contributing to the wind noise.

I tried the first and third mount point, but they were white car apart, with the mounting bracket sticking from the mounting rails a little bit.

Any feedback?

That front area is a high pressure zone. Have you tried the 2nd and 3rd cross bar locations and push the tent back? Or are they too close to each other?

Too close together. The middle and back mount points are 26", whereas the spec is min 30". My ideal and initial location was front and back mount points, but that's 63" apart, and max allowed is 60". I am thinking of shifting the tent slightly back and off center relative to the xbars.

Hey wanted to get an update on your x-cover. I'm looking to get the same tent on the R1S. Is it an issue if you shift the tent towards the rear to lower drag? I'm thinking of getting the ikamper wind deflector as well.

Do you have any new pictures of the tent and how you have it mounted?

You can't use the rear mount points since they are too close together. I checked with iKamper, and they mentioned the tent can be shifted back. I didn't bother moving it for our trip. The noise was on and off between noticing and it fading to the background tbh.. I too am planning to get a deflector.

That's great to know the tent can be shifted towards the back of the vehicle when on the front two mount points! Thank you!

How much efficiency loss did you notice?

Hmm, iKamper used to have an aero shield that could be placed in front of the X-Cover to reduce wind noise. I guess they discontinued that when they killed the X-Cover 1.0.

I kept the speed around 65-70, when normally I'd do 80. I also tried playing around with conserve on our trip. On our way out, around 200mi, the computer said I avg 2mi/kwh. I didn't notice much efficiency drop?
