It seems that the left screen doesn't know what the right screen is doing:
The left screen claims that we have 177 miles left. But the right screen says we'll end our trip in 126 miles with 30 miles left, implying a total of only 156 left at the current time. I'm *guessing* that the left number is just the battery SOC times some average efficiency while the right numbers reflect more knowledge of the remaining route and is likely more accurate. Of course, as we near the end of the trip the two numbers converge. Why not use the better knowledge of the trip computer for the left display?
This is just one example, I've seen the same behavior many times.
