On forums like these we often have a bit of hive mind when it comes to being critical around a company we care quite a bit about. Myself included.
However, when you have a phenomenal experience its just as important that we share those. So here we go- I had service scheduled at the Costa Mesa CA Service center last Friday. It was the best automotive service experience in my life. Lets talk about why:
All issues were completed to satisfaction and the service was incredible. 10/10, would recommend.
However, when you have a phenomenal experience its just as important that we share those. So here we go- I had service scheduled at the Costa Mesa CA Service center last Friday. It was the best automotive service experience in my life. Lets talk about why:
- About a week prior to the appointment I added two service items. Rivian was able to accommodate both additions on my ticket five days before the appointment.
- The fender "fang" (as the tech called it) on my drivers side was not flush with the hood and therefore stuff was getting caught on it. When drying the car rags would get caught or loose clothing if you were too close.
- Slight sound of very low ratcheting noise on 1/4 throttle between 10-30mph.
- When I arrived, a tech drove with me on the noise issue and assured me it was normal "within spec". Honestly, I thought it was but just wanted to make sure as I don't plan on servicing this truck often.
- My main infotainment had a glass defect on delivery. I was worried I would get to the service center and they wouldn't have the main display in stock. The part had been sent ahead and reserved for my repair.
- When I was at the appointment I notified the service advisor that I was going to be driving the truck a long distance the next morning so if I could pick it up at any time to please let me know.
- About 15 minutes after I arrived, I had a coffee and was in a Lyft paid for by Rivian on my way back to my house.
- The second shift lead was able to schedule me to pickup the truck at 645PM, a little outside of normal hours.
- I had asked if they could charge the truck to 100% if I couldn't pick it up that night so that I could get to where I needed to go the next day. They charged it to 100 even though I was able to pick it up the day before.
All issues were completed to satisfaction and the service was incredible. 10/10, would recommend.
