Interior Door Pull / Grab Handle Quality Fix?

I thought it was normal until I went in a friends Rivian that had a better door. Service center replaced the entire door on mine and now it’s much more solid feeling.

I had resigned myself to it just being normal as well. Glad to hear they took care of it. Maybe I’ll add it to my next service appointment and see what they say.

UPDATE: Mobile service just swung by this morning and after about 15 minutes my door handle is completely new and feels SO MUCH BETTER. Highly recommend getting this looked at if you’re like me and just assumed it was normal!

In my Rivian, the cheapest feeling interior part is the door pull. I assume all four doors share the same issue but I only ever use the driver’s door. It is a little loose, I can hear it squeak, and is just very cheap feeling. Every time I grab it to close my door I think - there HAS to be a way to improve this…

So my question is, is there any known fix to solidify this piece?

My Gen 2 door handle is creaky af.

Did you just submit a service ticket saying your door handles were creaky? Did they push back about it at all?

Yes. I put that it was squeaky and sent a video. Tech was like “has it been like that the whole time?” I said yeah since I got it, thought it was normal. He said “man that would drive me crazy!”

Wondering if I need to. I’ll check the other doors. But I’ve seen multiple online video reviews complaining about the same thing so just assumed it was “standard”.

Had service check this out multiple times, they even replaced door panels on 2 occasions. Made no difference. It's a quality issue. They squeak / creek / flex. Doesnt feel quality, the lead service tech admitted its an issue they have with all their vehicles and its just going to happen. I saw it in a review from Motor Trend about their R1T as well, they specifically noted how creaky it was.

Add that to my creaky suspension and wind noise. Getting all the "truck" goodies.

Wow. I guess I'll look into getting mine fixed. Count me among those with the incredibly creaky door pull on the inside. I can push on it while driving and make it creak. I usually have to do that as it sometimes creaks constantly with the slightest driving vibration. Passenger door does it as well.

This is something that's able to be taken care of with mobile service?

I recently had mobile service replace my drivers door panel for this issue, and the replacement is 100% solid. I made a video of the creaking when I originally submitted a service ticket. They first tried to tighten/repair the panel but it made no difference. When I complained they agreed to replace the entire panel with a mobile service visit. Very happy with the results and it feels like it should now.

Yea i dunno, I have a feeling it's going to come back, mine has been "fixed" 2x times and replaced 2x times on driver side and replaced 1x times on passenger side. still creaking. Replacements were creak free for maybe a few weeks. It's a defect in the design, I think with the electronic door opening in gen 2 they may have also added reinforcement to reduce / eliminate creaking from gen 1 with the manual door open handle.

I've narrowed my creaking down to the piece of metal trim that runs horizontally by the grab handle. If I press down on it... creak city.
