Nah, didn’t mean it like that and you’re right it’s probably too strong of a word. The battery and suspension issues are obviously bigger. Stripped paint a pretty bad one. Having the infotainment and/or audio not work repeatedly obviously a much smaller issue, but still seems so common that I’m surprised this got through pre-launch testing.

My question was just whether others think this level of issues is acceptable at this point and is it worse/better than expected? I personally expected to see maybe one or two larger issues out of 100 deliveries so this exceeds my expectation.
I have taken delivery of the following vehicles in the past 12 months :
21 -Jeep 392 (3) 1 not resolved
21 -Ford Raptor (4) 2 not resolved
22 - Rivian RT1 (1) Re

The second column I have shown the number of issues that involved service or a dealer visit.

The OTA service ability is a game changer —- I am not suggesting issues are to be taken lightly or that they don't create some challenges for owners , but Rivian people have been very willing to help and find solutions—they have great attitudes and RJ honored the prices to early adopters—-saved me @$20k—-so I am willing to help find solutions and do some Beta testing …I had a guide mistakingly tell me a Rivian RT1 loaner truck would available to me —-it wasn’t —but they didn’t become the typical car dealer and say “that’s your problem “ not ours…they provided me a solution within an hour that was More than fair
Don’t get me started on my Ford Raptor experience…there are some diamond ford service and sales people out there but the majority are not. I have yet to experience a rude Rivian team member. So let’s help them out while they help us sort through some issues.
cheers

Just imagine the pucker factor of those R1T owners who paid $140k to jump the line.

Is my schaudenfreude showing?

3 new trucks! Dude you're worst than me. lol Good for you.
For what it's worth Jeep does OTA updates on my Gladiator as well. Although they can't seem to change anything substantial.

When you all are losing audio, does it happen to be on the FM channels? I found that when I lose audio on the FM channel, reselecting the channel is able to bring the audio back. This worked for me even when incrementing, decrementing, and muting the volume did nothing.

Has anyone gotten the audio issue fixed by a tech? The total audio cutout has happened to me several times. Always seems to reset after park is selected and let alone four a bit.
Curious if service has said anything about a fix. I have an appointment in a couple of days for other issues but will see what they say about the audio.

2009 Range Rover Sport : 1 fuel pump in 13 years
2012 Land Rover LR4 : 1 leaky gasket in 10 years.

Maybe I’m lucky and you’re unlucky :) Maybe car quality has declined in the last decade and I’m in for a shock. Guess I’ll find find out.

But, great to hear they are efficiently dealing with these issues, however that’s my expectation going in. With the prevelance of some of these issues, it seems like a really good reason to slow down to me which maybe they are doing. For example, I can’t imagine it is more efficient to deal with thousands of service tickets vs making the passenger window seal properly beforehand.

I wrote my prior note while sitting in my truck, in front of my home, in a driving rainstorm, while the latest OTA was performed.

Luckily, it's very dark and the new window tint kept any of my neighbors from noticing that I cracked open and enjoyed a very nice Pineapple Chili-Ginger Hard Kombucha during the hour+ I've been sitting here curbside. I've been quietly enjoying all of the great banter and comments here, just like I always do late at night. In that my neighbors have never seen this truck before, I'm lucky nobody called the cops.

In this first evening of having my Rivian out of the PPF shop, I took a nice tour of some local mountain roads. It's funny, but as the wind was driving the rain and hail and sleet sideways the entire time, the roads were all mine. I called a few friends and a cousin who've all been with me during this three+ years of my Rivian Adventure, to see if they wanted to check it out. Nobody answered their phone, and nobody called or texted me back, so I just cranked up CSN, the Allman and Doobie Brothers, Tom Petty, and the Stones, and silenty cruised the empty roads.

After enjoying one of the worst evening's worth of weather in quite some time, I think I could get very used to doing these late night drives in my mobile concert hall.

The next trip will include U2, and an assortment of Motown, and maybe some Wilson Pickett and a few others. Hopefully, nobody answers their phone....

Sleep well....
