Cars and Bids is a terrible metric for gauging market price. They only allow one or two on there at a time as an active listing and it's always one or two bidders with extra money who will pay if it's the color/config they want. In the beginning when R1's were scarce, there were people lining up to bid as it was about the only option. For some reason there are still people lining up to bid, and lining up to sell. Those people are all in some fantasy bubble of sorts. Where the rest of the world is buying and selling R1T's and now R1S's at more down to earth pricing without the auction.

Yes, if you're going to try and flip it, get it listed on Cars & Bids.
Interesting, I didn't know they restrict the supply. And yes, a similar vehicle (but in black) sold for $10k less around the same time, so hard to say how much $ you would get as one or two motivated buyers can influence the result greatly.

What sites do you view as more reliable indicators of used car value?

I could never consider the MX because of the falcon doors. To me, a larger SUV needs to have the ability to have racks on top (just my own need). A hitch mount for bikes is not what I need. I wish they would just go back to regular doors on the MX as it would be much more useful to me.
