Is this normal behavior?

Today I was taking a sharp right turn out of a parking lot and my door flew open while the car was going around 5 miles an hour. I think I accidentally hit the door-open button on the left door with my leg, but was surprised that the door would open while the car was moving. Shouldn’t it lock and stay locked?

You need to press it more than once if the car is in drive, was your knee resting against the button? Where there any alerts that a door was open?
