I just cancelled. My guide assigned in March, then I was caught in the limbo where they wouldn't provide an updated delivery window. I'm tired of the no information cheery one-liners from the guide and CS. They started to sound like sociopaths. I lost interest in flipping and figured the best thing to do is have one less outstanding order- good for you others waiting maybe. A relief to RIvian I reckon...

That's terrible. Not sure I could have held out as long as you mate. Noticed you have a Defender. That's my other favourite car! Absolutely love it! Drive the snot out of it and perhaps in a few years all the fuss will die down and you can get a Rivian or the new Mercedes EQG! Cheers.

Thanks. My wife loves loves loves our Defender and that was maybe part of the decision. LR invited me to on their customer advisory board- there’s lots of talk about their upcoming EVs so I’ll probably just wait for specs. Life changed so much for us since the Rivian order so a new vehicle is no longer urgent…

I totally understand not wanting to wait any longer for answers. I deliberately waited until December of last year to place my order because I knew it would just be driving me crazy if I did it on day 1.

Many others here also had/ have orders for other announced EV pickups and according to most of them communication from the other manufacturers is also non-existent. Wish you well!

Understand fully @Gator42 and wish you the best. I'm holding on to my early 2020 reservation for an R1T Max more out of curiosity than anything else at this juncture. My guess is that I will be stranded when Rivian announces that they will be building only the dual-motor Max, but hey, you never know. I am however making contingency plans for what seems like an increasingly likely eventuality.

Good luck? What do you expect us to say? R1S's are still unicorns as far as the market is concerned.

Good for you. Rivian has so many orders that they can't fill that they probably don't care. We just past our four year pre-order anniversary. We will continue to hang in. We are not really interested in any other EV's. We will probably order a another ICE pick-up sometime next year.
