That's unfortunate. I have a ram 1500 and I thought the rivian was pretty similar. However I don't think I got on an interstate during test drive.

I didn't expect the ride quality to be as near perfect due to the wheelbase but Rivian should have been able to make it quiet. I do know the rivian has HVAC and motor hum, but it sounds like you're talking about road noise.

I assume you had comparable 21 road tires?
Just to be clear, it’s not that the Rivian is bad. The Ford is just better. It’s kind of like saying the F150L is slower than the R1T. It’s true, but that doesn’t mean it’s a slow. The R1T is just faster, and it’s not close.

The same goes for the Rivian in terms of how quiet. For additional comparison, it’s more quiet than my Model S or X.

And yes, 21s. Hope this helps

Totally agree with @Yellow Buddy
By a large margin yes. The wind noise is the area where the R1T falls short. It’s a relative thing both are quiet just not as quiet as the Ford
That's interesting because I never found the Ford as quite as the Dodge. But granted I've never driven an F-150 from The last 5 years.

I do hope Rivian improves this over time.

I also agree that the F150L was whisper quiet and I enjoyed that. The R1T has electric motor noise and a very subtle wind noise. Still seems very quiet overall.

The Lightning got some special attention from Ford as I have a 2021 F150 and it isn’t as quiet as the Lightning

I mean, your 2021 F150 does have an engine in it...

Random question... how many vehicles do you have? Don't you also have an older racing truck?

It's true. I hear constant "oooohs" and "aaaahs" as I'm driving around town in the Rivian. So annoying!

Subtle is a good word for it, it’s not annoying and most people who ride in my truck comment on how quiet it is. I think Rivian will be able to improve on it over time. But I’m used to it now and really don’t notice it unless I’m on a longer drive or it’s windy.

Can’t say exactly as my wife checks my browsing history. To many to make any sense of.

Don’t have any gofast trucks at the moment. I was going to put a 2650 on the F150 5.0 but bought a motorcycle instead

Pick up my LE R1T tomorrow and had my Lightning for about 3 months. Leaning towards selling the Lightning. Anyone own both who can comment? 37 year old dad of 1 who really likes the Lightning but like new technology as well. Comfortable ride quality on crappy Dallas roads is one of my top priorities. Any advice?
You can't go wrong with either. If you don't mind the size of the F150, and are fine using a key fob, I would stick with that. I stuck with the r1t because it fits better in my garage and over time I think the tech will be a lot better.
