latest VIN for R1S

Hi All, I ordered an R1S in early 21, and my vehicle arrived at the San Diego facility on Friday, and I'm picking up on Thursday. However, the last 5 of my VIN are 157xx, which seems to imply it's ancient (if I'm understanding correctly). What are the implications of this? I actually didn't purchase available vehicles in the store to ensure I got a recent build, so this is very disappointing.

Congrats and 15xxx seems early to mid July build and not too old. I had picked up 14xxx on July first week which was just off the build line. Unfortunately it did not make it to my SC and they offered an alternative which I am picking up this Friday.

I'm a September 2021 pre-order and I just confirmed my pro shop configuration on 8/27/23. My assigned VIN is 0209XX. So Rivian is almost at 21,000 R1S vehicles.

I was an August 2021 pre-order and was granted shop access at the first of September. I jumped on a similar R1S as my pre-order (20" ATs, El Cap). I had a VIN assigned immediately at 211XX. Based on what I've read this must be fresh off the assembly line, no? In any event, I'm fired up and hope delivery does not take too long!

I don't know but it's the real deal. I picked mine up on Thursday 9/7 and it has the launch edition badging and came with the wristband. It is on the city 21s so I did not get the benefit of the wheel upgrade for free.

Has anyone had any luck rejecting a vin?

I picked one from R1Shop in July, was assigned 10xxx VIN while others were getting 14-16xxx ranges.

Delivery is set for Monday 11th. I’ll update on my experience, based on Responses I received and sleeping on it. I’m ok with it, and accepting the fact that I will have opportunity to review vehicle.

As others have mentioned sales falling through, waiting on parts to make any failed QC items right etc are likely reasons for this-old VINs popping up.

Now I feel the opposite that Rivian would have made sure this vehicle was 100% ready to be sold given it was produced ~ 4 months before and likely remained on inventory until it went through to shop.
I’ll know Monday and hope to jump on here to share my experience by end of next week.
