Oh, saw this topic in another thread just now. Whoops, missed it. Might not be head but lifting off the seat. Sorry for duplicative thread.

I had the same issue (lifting off the seat to back up). It’s funny, because I read all about it on the forums before towing with my truck, and I though “silly people! Keep your butt on the seat when you back up,” only to find out that apparently I do it too.

I haven’t tested this yet, but it’s been noted on the forum that if you keep your seatbelt buckled, it wont put it in park if you lift off the seat a little.

I haven’t tested this yet, but it’s been noted on the forum that if you keep your seatbelt buckled, it wont put it in park if you lift off the seat a little.
Yep, saw that and keeping seat belt fastened does the trick.

Add a backup camera to the trailer; makes a big difference and takes the guesswork out of lane changes. When we’re parking our Airstream; we utilize walkie-talkies as my wife wanders around checking clearance of the back, sides, and underside as I back in the spot.

I do not have trailer mirrors on either the Rivian or Defender
