Leather Friction Sound When Retracting Steering Wheel

I had this same issue, I noticed it when it got really cold out. I was in for service, and the tech said they just spray some lube on the leather there in the steering column. I saw the remnant's - so it was for sure some sort of spray lube they applied to it. So far so good, but makes sense that it will return one day -

Spray with silicon spray. It works. Did this to mine about a month ago and haven’t heard a peep since. One should always have some silicon spray on hand - very useful product.
