The anchors stick up without the liners on but with the liners installed the grommets are pretty flush which is more important to me since I will keep the liners on 99% of the time. I only plan to do this on the 2nd row seat backs since the 3rd row will be down mostly and the mat stays in place really well so far.

Hi, This is a super clean workaround. I'm curious what size drill bit did you use to install the anchor piece to the back of the second row seats. Much appreciated.

Do you know what diameter you used? I'm assuming just big enough to allow the anchor screw thread to screw into. My guess, 1/4" would be big enough. I guess start with smallest and work my way up.

I don't rember the size, but yes, just step it up until it fits.
