I’m a Lucid Air owner. I also have two Audi EV’s. I’m very interested in the R2 next year when one of the leases expire.

The Lucid Gravity is not a replacement for the Air nor is it a competitor to the R1 or R2. Very different market segments. If it looks too much like a minivan and you don’t like minivans, then it’s simply not the vehicle for you.

Lucid makes arguably the best EV, certainly the most efficient. I regularly get 4.5 mi/Kwh. Close to 500 miles range. It is the technology leader certainly in that respect.

It is perfectly OK to appreciate the outstanding tech and engineering Lucid brings to the EV marketplace and still be loyal to the Rivian brand. Different segments. Different use cases.

I am looking forward to experiencing tbe R2 next year.

Well said. I've always liked the Air. Incredible miles/kwh and great design! Not a fan of this pygmy minivan.

Future R2
“Off-road”. In released testing image, it looked like a well maintained grade 1 dirt path. Any soft roader could have conquered it.
Yeah, it will be a very small bump in ground clearance and come with AT tires. I know someone who sells Hyundai's and he says the new XRT trim on the Ionic 5 is in high demand and that's basically same revisions.

I think the comparison to the Gravity and R1S and Model X are just going to come natural given that they are 3 row SUV from EV startups. All have very different use cases, but if you are in the market for a 3 row EV, those are your major options unless you want a mammoth Escalade IQ or something less intriguing like the Vistiq or Ioniq9.

To further add to your point, I'd argue Lucid, as far engineering, makes the best cars, EV or otherwise. They are very well thought out, the packaging is excellent and the performance along with the efficiency is world class. Not to mention some of the best charging speeds. I have a Rivian, but the Lucid Air was on my short list and so would have the Gravity had it been out a year sooner.

How has your experience been with Air as far as tech and service appointments are concerned? I think on paper they are top notch vehicles, but interested to hear an owners perspective who is also open to other brands.
