After my wife drives our R1S the lumbar support remains at 'her' setting even after I select my profile and all the other things move to 'my' settings. Is this normal or is there something wrong with my vehicle?

Lumbar support is the only thing that doesn't move/change with driver profiles, unfortunately.

Funny enough, the early versions of software would prompt you to save the lumbar position whenever you adjusted it, so it seems like the original plan was to save the lumbar position. Not sure why they cut it.
