Looks decent. Wonder why it’s only 400V? I thought GMs Ultium batteries were 800V.
Only the trucks, they have stacked packs.

My experience with Acura was an RSX Type S and a TSX with 200k miles…great cars…but the one thing they have in common….If the VIN starts with a “J”, you are OK.
Japanese vs US built? Given our Rivian’s are on-shore with many former Mitsubishi workers, I hope that’s not true.

Back when that plant made Eclipses and Talons, I saw a Talon at a dealer with a Mitsubishi steering wheel.

And regarding the Acura Japan vs USA, i had two made in Japan and three were built in Ohio and they were all amazingly well built. Couldn't really differentiate any quality issues between them.

I have had two Acuras, a 2005ish TSX (don't remember where it was built), got about 175k miles on it before I traded it in. The other was a 2016ish RDX (built in Ohio) with about 125k miles (traded it in for the R1T). I think the only times they spent the night at the dealer was when the dealer called and said they were busy, while I had a loaner. Pretty much oil/brakes/wipers/tires for the both of them, and thats about it. I liked how reliable they were, very good at getting from Point A to Point B, they just weren't very exciting. I have had my R1T unavailable to drive more than those two combined, and thats 10k miles verse 300k miles.

That being said, I would not consider the ZDX until GM get its Lyriq issues worked out, I've read about a lot of issues with them. I am glad I cancelled my Debut Edition order with them in the beginning of July (ironically my R1T 12V died a week or two later). Then again, I am guessing if GM doesn't have their issues worked out by then, they will be looking for another federal handout.

My main gripe would not be at GM vehicles but that they can’t make their own BEVs fast enough as they are battery constrained.
Agree, GM can't even meet their own EV production schedules/deadlines that they set a few years ago. The E Silvarado is vaporware. Why would Acura get in bed with this mess and take on the warranty liability and reputation damage that is likely to come with a GM EV partnership?

Honda is further behind.

And is in bed with GM in fuel cells and autonomous driving in addition to EV platforms.

The Silverado WT4 EV started rolling off the production line on June 30.

Rivian hasn't met the production schedule they set a few years ago.

Tesla hasn't met the production schedule for Cybertruck, Tesla Semi nor Tesla Roadster 2.0 they set a few years ago.

Most OEMs haven't met the BEV production schedule they set a few years ago.

There is no increased likelihood of reputational damage.

No one will be perfect. Everyone will have teething problems.

BTW Honda/Acura announced about 8 hrs ago they are joining NACS.

the devil is in the details…these specs are for the A-spec RWD only…the AWD will get 315 and cost more$$$. Interesting they will ONLY be sold online according to the article.
I suspect Acura considers it "sold" online for consumer optics purposes, but still compensates the dealer that will deliver the vehicle or even that all they really do is "push' the deal to the dealer, where the transaction really takes place.

I put over 200 miles on an Acura MDX. Good reliable car. The infotainment system was a hot mess. Multiple independent systems, buttons everywhere etc. It was the constant oil changes and services that annoyed me the most. I was putting 30k miles on it a year so lots of maintenance and $600/month in gas.
