Acura ZDX is a Google-powered premium EV with 325 miles of range and a $60K price tag

With a wheelbase of 121 inches, the ZDX looks to be similar in size to the Honda Prologue as well as other premium EV SUVs like the Cadillac Lyriq and Audi Q8 E-tron. We’re still missing some specs, such as cargo capacity for the two-row vehicle.

GM probably has more incentive to crank these out than their own vehicles because of contractual obligation.

And my history with the sales, warranty, and service from Acura is second to none and on par only with Lexus.

Now....if only I wasn't in love with my R1T....

The 2nd best feature of my previous Acura was that, aside from routine maintenance, I didn’t need to think about it. It just worked. Always.

The best feature was the adaptive dampers. (IMO the R1Ts are far superior.)

If that is the case with the new EV (which I assume is an Ultium-based Blazer cousin?), that is great. And means GM should really start to crank up their output on their own vehicles and double down on cost-savings and reliability.

More EVs = Good. Glad it’s coming out.

Acura service but OEM replacement parts coming from GM?

Back when dealers weren’t generally overwhelmed or parts constrained, Acura did run a tight ship. Sounds like they still do. I’d expect some service constraints on this one though.

My main gripe would not be at GM vehicles but that they can’t make their own BEVs fast enough as they are battery constrained.

Google driven means it will be a massive data collection system. I'm gonna pass on that. Rivian could be doing the same thing but until it is proven that they are selling my telematics data to anyone who will pay for it like Google does I'm going to assume they aren't doing that.

I'm excited about this offering. Great specs and solid starting price. I enjoyed Android automotive when I test drove the polestar 2. A lot of opportunity there. I like the looks.

So many compelling EVs are coming over the next few years. Finally, competitive choices. This is excellent for consumers.

My experience with Acura was an RSX Type S and a TSX with 200k miles…great cars…but the one thing they have in common….If the VIN starts with a “J”, you are OK.
