April 2019 order date
Living in the wilds of Maine (Boston is nearest service center and I don't think it is anywhere near open)
LE R1T in Launch Green, Black Mountain and 20 ATs, cargo cross bars as only accessory.
March April 2022 Delivery window email recieved.
No Guide contact yet.
I'm still baffled how you and other folks in remote areas are getting March/April while I got April/May, I'm Dec 2018 pre-order 12 miles from Seattle. Only difference I can see is my Forest Edge interior. They must be running through Black Mountain first, I've yet to see Forest Edge delivered.

@DuckTruck , is the Launch Green / Forest Edge worth the extra wait? These El Cap / Black Mountain pics and videos lately are tempting me something fierce. Convince me LG/FE/AT is 4ME!

Riviot,

You can't go wrong with either. All I can say is the Launch Green/Forest Edge really works for me, and it blends in with the areas I hope to explore around here. I also think that both the exterior and interior have more warmth to them, and will hide dust and dirt better than all of the other options, as well. At least that's my take.

While the El Cap/Black Mountain also looks great, it'll likely be available throughout the run of the R1 lineup. It doesn't have the exclusivity of the Launch Green, but my reasoning is really more about the LG/LE combo. For me, it just does the trick.

@Riviot I can’t remember where I read it but black mountain interior is being run first. Then ocean coast. Then forest edge. At least that’s how I remember it. So the interior color is a factor in terms of estimated delivery date

Rhidan had a great idea with the April - May thread, so since I haven’t found one for those of us that are March - April I figured I’d make it.

I still think this truck will be well worth the wait and although my faith in them hitting the delivery window isn’t all that high, we are on the final stretch of the wait for our trucks.

Seems like the final groupings for delivery still take multiple factors into account, but since I’m not particularly close to any of the service centers under construction, they do seem to be giving priority to the early deposits amongst us. I’m a day 1 deposit, and I’d guess that there are a lot of us in this group that have been waiting 1000+ days. Our wait should s00n be over, though!
@rydb When did (does) your online configurator have your deliver window date listed?

I just spoke to CS and was called January 10th asking if I wanted to change my 2018 November 27th Max Pack to a Large pack to get 2022 delivery. I told them.I was interested, but they were gonna "get back to me" as to when I could expect delivery by the end of the month.

Needless to say I didn't hear back, but Rivian did change my R1T configuration since I've been checking on it. They even went as so far as to change my wheel type (22" sport, to 20" AT). I changed my wheels to the 22" wanting more range then the AT would offer.

CS basically gave me a blanketed response of "you'll have a delivery window listen in your configuration and a guide will reach out to you at that time".

I told Rivian, if I was gonna be Q4 2022, I'd rather wait for my Max Pack for potential Q1 delivery 2023.

That was the big stipulation in switching... I would change my order to get the truck 9-12 months earlier, but if I gonna be waiting only a 2-4 month less, I'd rather keep my Max Pack configuration.

After seeing people get revised dates in this thread, I contacted CS this morning. I’ve changed my configuration to Explore since 12/2021 so I was curious if I’ve stayed the same (1H 2023) or fallen back.

Their response, “As we speak, we are working on a revised estimation tool which will give you more transparency into changes to your configuration and delivery window.”

So, no transparency now, but it’s coming!

This has been a "soon" feature for at least 3 months now. ;)

Also, please don't think CS has any real connection to your car whatsoever. It's just a customer service chat, they can answer basic questions with static information. I guarantee you they have no way of checking any internal Rivian information whatsoever, they can look at your Rivian account & answer from a manual but that's the extent of their ability. They're not looking at production queues, current deliveries, etc.. etc.., Rivian would never risk CS having access to that information.

Were the other window confirmations in this thread coming from Guides? I don’t expect CS to have access to the database, but I did expect they would see a delivery window associated when they access my account information.

Of course this is up to you, but I don't think anyone should be changing configs around a month or two of delivery estimate unless you have a life changing trip planned in that month that only a Rivian can get you through. (In which case, uh, congrats on your confidence in the timeline ?)

The first month with your Rivian will fly by and by a year from now, you won't have any lasting value from getting in in March instead of May. But you'll wish you'd gotten the config you really wanted for the rest of the time you own the vehicle.

If you truly don't care about the configuration difference, go for it. But buy the truck you want, not the one that gets here a little bit sooner.

Based on a Rivian tracker I saw elsewhere, the first Limestone deliveries is in the Mar-April time window.

My sentiments exactly. If I lived in a big city (as I have) all the other colors would work well for me depending on my mood. They are bright or have good contrast or like LA Silver or perhaps Limestone work anytime anywhere dirty or clean ; but the LG/FE combo is perfect for where I now live on the river, with natural grasses and trees among the peaks where weather and seasons are always shifting and the dirt roads lead right up to my garage which is two miles away from a two lane paved road. Go color and go natural — and thanks to Rivian we have such good and even great choices. I look forward to seeing all the colors in situ here!!

I got a definitive March 1 to April 1 window late this afternoon via chat. I'm in the Phoenix area, where the service center is opening any day....we shall see.

I'm 1153 days since pre-order on Dec. 6, 2018. LE R1T Launch Green, 20's, Black Mountain.
