I had to take my truck in to a tire shop to plug a hole from a bolt I managed to pick up. The manual states that the truck needs to be at the highest setting for tire changes, but the truck was too high for the jacks and pucks at that height. We put it down to standard and we’re still able to turn on tire change mode and successfully get the tire off for repair. Anyone know if there is a technical reason for the height requirement?

I tried to open a chat with Rivian to ask the question around 1 today, but I still haven’t been picked up to even ask the question yet, which is definitely a discussion for another thread.

The truck will shift the least in highest mode. Important if you are on the side of the road.

That maximum height suggestion might be a requirement for the Rivian supplied jack and puck? I imagine being in "tire change mode" would be more important then the actual vehicle ride height?

Just looked at this and the reason is clear. When jacking it up from a low ride height, the wheels fall away every bit as far as if it were starting from a high ride height. So all starting at a low height does is make you jack a lot further and not have the opportunity to shim with any necessary blocks.
