I took these at Stanford today. Cybertruck had TX manufacturer plates. Not RC unit, not Foundation unit.

Last picture zooms into the side of Cybertruck. The steel still looks pretty wavy.

No amount of pressure otherwise will change my mind, the CT is an abomination.

My biggest issue is that the form delivers none of the promised "function" benefits over any other traditionally styled vehicle.

We were told this was a reinvention of "the truck" - ok... Someone name items that this shape, this design, enables as a legitimate "reinvention" of... anything any other modern truck can do?

It has a tiny frunk and no gear tunnel equivalent. So it didn't enable new forms of additional storage and capacity. It has similar range to other EV trucks, no benefit there. The bed isn't substantially larger or able to store more items, it has no additional features or benefits over the beds of any traditional truck. It doesn't offroad better, it doesn't tow better, it doesn't have more capacity, it might be marginally faster but that's a feature that doesn't make it "better" as a truck, or redefine anything, you have effectively no rear visibility the vast majority of the time... So what, exactly, is delivered by this specific shape and design that made it a requirement to enable... a complete rethink of what a truck can be?

If the functional specs and capabilities of the CT were dramatically "better" in ANY way, you could at least say, well, it looks weird, but holy shit can it do X like no other vehicle! but you literally can't say that about ANY aspect of it. it's certainly not cheaper... that was a lie.

So I simply cannot, and will not see the "benefit" of "dumpster on wheels" design language and stainless steel exterior,"bullet proofing", or any of the other nonsense that cannot provide a single tangible benefit over traditional construction. This is the single most "look at me!" vehicle that's been created in my lifetime. It's awful.

Jokes aside, this is the best commentary I've seen on the cybertruck. I could see this being the takeaway after a year long term review. Besides the hard panels, which I do see some benefits of, there really isn't a leap forward in any function derived from the design. Closest I can come up with is the raised height of the forward tonneau but that's still just a bed cap hybrid. Which is also not a feature I'd want to lose rear visibility over.

That is such a terrible looking vehicle from multiple angles. It looks like a mini van from the front and a dumpster from the back. The side view is okay I guess, because of the added bonus of not being able to see the ripples in the steel. I'm not sure if not being able to dent it is really that big of a plus when it comes from the factory already looking dented all over.

Well, to be fair, this is a feature: CyberTrucks wave even if the driver doesn’t! I’m surprised Elon didn’t charge extra for this, um, automation.

The CT is just not very attractive from the back end. The R1T is a beauty queen by comparison.

Its so bad that anyone who actually buys one should be publicly mocked.

I am ok with progress and new changes, but the net result of the CT is, well, the dart missed the board.
If it had a Darth Vader look or something it would at least be for some people, but I do not understand any attraction here.
I am ok with my "Cute" looking "Frunk face".
