20 inch wheels with 275/60/20 is the most efficient setup.
I have it on my R1S and it’s 7% more efficient than my R1T.
R1T quad large with 21’s got 2.31mi/kwh over 6k miles. R1S quad large got 2.47mi/kwh over same distance.

Any issues with the load rating when getting installed? And do you think you can do any better mpk with the grabbers?
I had a friend of mine that owns a mechanic shop put them on so no issues but I have seen people on other threads get turned away for the load rating.
There is another thread where the grabbers are a little more efficient than my setup. Kitesurfer has a great post on it.

I'm using the grabbers. It is on par with yours and slight better than my 21". Best part of the grabbers is the price :)

This is interesting. Can you share the size and full name of the tyres, please? Cheers.

Thanks. Didn't you just get your R1?
I had it since march of 2023. my 21" tires lasted only 16K miles and decided to switch to 20" instead.

I think it's mostly depends on the tire thread, your driving style and type of drives you do.
Also, don't trust the trip efficiency calculation as it is not accurate. For example my trip 1 calculator never reset and show 55K mils, 25K Kwh charged and 1.7 efficiency. That doesn't add up... efficiency should have been 2.2.

It is very difficult to really compare wheels based on efficiency. So many factors influence it. The best way is to track actually kWh removed from the battery. I think you may be able to do that with the Rivian API. And you need multiple trips that are as identical as possible. Same speed, same distance, same temp, same wind speed, same climate (rain or not), etc. It isn't easy.

What is easier is physics. Rolling resistance and aerodynamics are the primary factors. A smaller rim and bigger tire means better aerodynamics usually, because rotational resistance is most impacted by the outside of the wheel (because it is moving faster). A tire sidewall is perfectly smooth and the bigger the sidewall, the less rotational resistance. Assuming the wheel is also aerodynamic of course.

Rolling resistance is the most important factor, which is why the stock ATs have worse efficiency even though I bet the rotational resistance is similar or better than the Gen1 21s with the aero covers on. Physics.

Pirelli AS+3 275/60R20 on Ram 2363 getting 2.47 MPK on my commute. 2022 Quad R1T riding All Purpose/Standard. I go 70mph when I can, 25% local roads /75% highway. AC on 64, lowest fan speed, recirc on.

What's the weight difference between the RAM wheels and stock? Also, the surface area I imagine will make some difference.

Are those different from your stock size, and if so, did you account for the circumstance difference?
