MotorTrend’s June issue is focused on the latest in EVs, including technical pieces, the history of electrics, and reviews & comparisons of many current BEVs and hybrids. It’s stuffed with articles and all kinds of great info related to the electrification of our transportation going forward (no pun intended). If I could download the entire magazine, I would. The best I can do is provide a couple of links to their on-line version, which includes a fraction of the material. If someone else has a better way of getting there, please feel free to chime in. It’s noteworthy that most of the articles referenced in their corporate website are related to either EVs or accessories including solar powered goods.

I just spent the evening combing through it and applaud MT for putting it out. While their comparison of the gas-powered and EV versions of Volvo’s new XC40 variants was a great read, it compared them over two one-day, 400-mile treks. Although the EV version wins the day, I have to believe that the normal use-case for this vehicle would be around town driving with well over 90% of it’s usage never needing an away-from-home charge. This would mean it would likely enjoy an even higher rating over it’s gassy brother for most folks. I’ve written elsewhere of an enjoyable test-drive I had last week in this rocket of a small ESUV. It was quite impressive.

While RJ and Rivian get mentioned several times, the entire EV movement is nicely highlighted by MotorTrend. I think you’ll enjoy the entirety of their effort.
