My Factory Delivery Delayed. Anyone Else?

My factory delivery was postponed. It was suppose to be on 12/27, but I got a call on Monday saying had to be delayed and the delivery team would reach out to me next week.

Has anyone had this happen to them at the factory? I assume that between the the weather and holidays things got pear shaped. Anyone have any guesses as to what happened?

lol, maybe. Hopefully it’s just staffing. But my brain wonders if they hit it with a snow plow…. Murphy’s Law, if I can go wrong, it will go wrong

I think they already acknowledged that 25k will be production, logistics will cause deliveries to lag a bit at least that is what I gathered from the earnings call.

I was working on a last second delivery for year end and seemed to be going well. Then came back this afternoon that couldn’t happen at factory with too many deliveries already booked. Sorry to hear yours has been delayed as well but backs up what happened with me today as well. Hope you get yours soon as well.

Curious for the cancels this week, did you complete the purchase so you get the tax credit this year and just had the delivery rescheduled? Would make a difference on when Rivian is booking the sale as well.

It’s a bit of a bummer, but my work schedule went haywire. So I wouldn’t have got much time in the truck anyway. Back ups and delays happen. I was a 12/21 order so I’m in better shape than others who have been waiting waaaay longer

Sanzco2, I finished my first 7 steps on the 21st of Decembe. I‘ll have to check with my accountant to see if tax deductions are based on purchase date or delivery date.

We were at the Factory to pickup our Truck on 12/21 and they were planning to push off the 22/23 deliveries due to weather, so I'd guess that they are still catching up due to the weather. The delivery center is behind the factory, but it's a small building, and I doubt they are doing all of the pre-delivery work in that building. And there's a lot of plowing to get a clear path back there, lol.

There were two R1Ts and one R1S in there when we picked up, which was all that you could really fit in there. We had a late afternoon appointment, so I'd assume they prep them elsewhere, bring them in and do the delivery, then swap out for the next appointment.

We did factory pickup on 12/27… might have had a quality issue that needed some time to resolve on the vehicle. They told us they did 9 deliveries that day and had 18 (!) scheduled for the following day… so they were still pumping them out this week for sure. You’ll be good, hard to wait a little longer I know, but it’ll be worth it for sure.
