Need help with options to speed-up R1S

Hi,
My reservation for R1S was made on September 2022. I know there are a lot of folks out there who had ordered before I did and still waiting.

IIRC, I configured a dual-motor All-Wheel Drive when I ordered. I am not sure how long it is going to take. What are my options to speed up? Such as opting for a different config in R1S, choosing to take delivery from Normal, IL plant etc.? I am not getting a R1T as I need the extra seating.

FWIW, when I log in now, I started seeing a different message on Homepage on the Rivian site " Welcome back Let’s turn your reservation into an R1S." I don't know if it means anything. Does this mean I am getting shop access?

Any advice, please?

I jumped the line a bit but you are asking for a lot. My delivery date was Oct-Dec 2023.

The key is calling and saying I will take any exterior and interior colors. I'm fine with any motor configuration, any tires, and any options. Then say you have all the financing lined up and no trade in. This is the easiest final process for them as everything is in order and they don't have any arguments or things to check. Also you will probably need to go quad as dual motors are probably more limited in availability.

So if you want to jump the line you take whatever is available at that moment and preferably before a quarter end as they are trying to make the numbers.

I ordered 4/8/2022 and took delivery on 6/30/2023 and the reason was I was willing to take almost any vehicle ended up with El Cap, Ocean Coast, 21" tires, and steel underplate. It cost a bit more and I didn't get the exact config I wanted but I'm very happy with the vehicle. They also happened to have one near my location which worked out although I did have to drive and pick it up.

The dual motors are just starting to get out there, so it’s hard to say but as @WorldComposting said I think telling Rivian you are as flexible on everything else as possible can only help. If you have a guide ask them for access to the shop. If not, beg CS every week for access. There are dual motors showing up there recently according to others here.

Your best bet is to buy a "used" R1S quad motor Launch or Adventure online. You don't have pre-increase protection anyway, so you won't be paying more and you can find one for $90,000 with under 500 miles pretty easily. If you want it now, that's the way you'll get it. They'll continue to go down in price for used as production ramps up - we've seen this with the R1T.

Now, if you want the tax credit, then you have to wait...
