New Owner Process

Well, after several months of researching EV trucks, I found a 2022 R1T that I couln't pass up. I will be picking it up on Sunday. As the new owner, what should I do to "restore to factory settings" and set it up for my use? Should I simply delete all driver profiles and create a new one? Will creating a new profile prompt to set up all the goodies like app account, phone key, home address, etc?

There's a "Clear Settings" option in the service menu. Also make sure to remove any previous owner paired keys and phones.

You'll start in the app and it will ask to pair to the vehicle. It will walk you through the process.

Congrats and welcome! We have a 22' R1S LE we got used and it's incredibly well built.

I believe you do still have to email Rivian your purchase agreement paperwork in order to fully transfer ownership to your Rivian account and app. That is what we did last spring, but perhaps it has changed since then.

Post pics when you get it, best truck/vehicle I have ever driven.

There is a form online that will send an email to Rivian, mine took about 2 weeks over the holidays to get transferred, hopefully your previous owner removed it from their account otherwise be careful at fast chargers. I’ve heard others only taking a day…. I think it depends on how fast your finance company is and if th Rivian people are in the office.

Submitting an inquiry form for ownership transfer and clearing setting in the service menu accomplished what I wanted. Thanks for the responses!
