Member @B Digs had a hand in designing the tire. It checks all boxes for appearance, efficiency, on-pavement manners and some off-pavement capability. While not the ultimate in any of those categories, it checks all boxes at a relatively low cost. The RIV version was developed specifically for the R1, with collaboration with Rivian.

The 3PMSF rating just mean you'll more likely to keep going when non-snow rated alternates can't continue further. Since you mentioned snowboarding, seem like having the rating wouldn't hurt.

As for 22" AS tires going everywhere you went with your ATs... that has more to do with terrain of the trail. There are places you would have been able to continue while they struggle for traction. Otherwise, off-road oriented tires wouldn't be a thing ever.

Unless durability of LT and heavier, more substantial, tires are required... I personally prefer lighter options. Or options that are not as heavy (from stock, which are said to be around 45~48 lbs). In steady cruising, tire weight is less of a factor on efficiency. However, real world driving isn't limited to steady cruising. Wheels/tires are rotating masses and act like gyroscopes. The heavier they are the greater impact on efficiency, suspension oscillation and steering response.
Thanks for the info.

I'm only finding the Goodyears in a 275/60/20, not a 275/65/20. Am I missing something, or do they not come in the OEM AT size?

275/60R20 is the size it is available in. As of 3 OTAs ago, you can change tire configs in vehicle setting.

Got it.

Aside from ~6lbs a tire lighter, and 1.1" shorter.......Any reason I should worry about the tires being physically smaller?

Looks like the "sport 22in" wheel/tire package has a 275/50/22 which is 32.8in, so clearly the Rivian will work just fine with the 33in 275/60/20.

Just curious what else to look out for, and if I'm missing anything before moving ahead.

Thanks for the help!

None. It would only reduce your maximum ground clearance by 0.55". And it will have more sidewall and air volume than the Sport 22"; more cushioning.

Got it. Thanks again for the help.

Not sure what I'm going to do at this point. Current stock Pirellis have 50% tread worn at 15.6k miles. Rivian is telling me the truck is pulling because of a tire issue and they say it's not the alignment. These tires suck, but I hate replacing tires that have 15k miles left on them.

Not gonna lie, these stock tires are sucking some enjoyment out of the ownership experience.

Eh. I have no problems with them. When was the last time you rotated them to even out wear?

The car still weighs the same so if the tires are the same size and foot print, the same psi is roughly appropriate. IE a 7"x7" footprint times 50psi is 2450lb capacity per tire. Buying a tire that goes to 80 psi (121/124 load rating) makes for a heavier tire that carries more than the car is rated for. So 80psi will never be utilized. The only advantage of the heavier tire is puncture resistance.

Brother, you are not alone. I have a set of 20" OEM tires/wheels sitting on my back porch because they were just too loud. They probably gave 10K miles left on them. I bought a set of 22" OEM wheels/tires, and after wearing out the Pirellis in 20K, I'm rolling on Michelin's. I plan on getting some winter tires for the 20" wheels.

Console yourself knowing that, if you can last, next year will be better tire wise.

Service center has been chasing alignment issues. They get rotated every 5k or so.

At this point I'm considering getting a set of atomic wheels and the Goodyear tires. Let the stock setup live in storage until the lease is up. Then resell the wheels.

It's ridiculous to have to deal with this on a vehicle at this price point.

I could live with the noise and"power through", but the pulling makes it largely unbearable.

Just a constant reminder of the mistake I made buying this thing. Ugh
