New to me R1T battery level and google maps

Hey all!

I just picked up a used 2022 R1T today from a third party dealer. I have submitted the owner transfer docs to Rivian (I know it will take a week or so), but I have 2 issues that I wonder are ownership related.

On the driver screen I have the battery icon but there is no range or battery percentage. And when I try to go into the navigation, I have the Google Maps legal screen, however it won’t let me click accept. I did do a soft and hard reset just to see but that didn’t change anything.

Hey congrats on your new Rivian!

Never seen this myself, but maybe someone who bought theirs used can chime in about whether this is a familiar part of the transfer process. If you are able to share some pics of what you are seeing that might help us ID the issue.

Based on the "pending" user, my guess is you can't accept until a user is added. Good thing is this would make me think the previous owner removed the vehicle from their account so no user is associated and/or Rivian is already getting the ownership transfer done in the background. My guess is the transfer process is accelerated if the previous owner has already removed the vehicle.

For the battery percentage, there is a toggle to show percentage, milage, or both under the vehicle settings. This may also be tied to a user setting and may not show until a user profile is loaded.

I got my 2022 R1T used about 2.5 years ago, so feel free to ask any questions as you get into it!

I bought a pre-owned 2024 R1T from CarMax in October. I had the same issues you described, but within minutes of receiving an email confirming the ownership transfer was complete, the issues were resolved and everything worked as expected. By the way, the ownership transfer was completed within 24 hours of my submitting the paperwork. (But of course there were no holiday-related delays in October.)

The percentage gauge is a setting I think. I don’t remember where to select it.

Cool, thanks! That is encouraging. Not that it is a huge deal but will be nice when it’s all lined up
