I know at least two people who have it without C+. I don't think it's exclusive... just prioritizing C+ which is one of the benefits.
Yeah, I didn't mean to insinuate that it was pay-walled behind Connect+, only that it isn't rolling to the non-Connect+ populous yet, as expected.

Those of you upset about not having the update yet - you can have mine. It's so buggy I've only been able to get the costumes to work one time - and usually the sounds don't play at all. Gen 1 here.

I have connect+ and Gen1, and still no update here either. Gotta be patient, they roll out in batches and halt when issues arise to address it. I’m more than willing to wait and ensure i get a usable update that doesn't brick the vehicle.

Patience is warranted… Rivian isnt trying to screw anyone.

Judging by the other thread on here, everyone with C+ had it and everyone without C+ was still waiting. I think that was as of the end of Friday though. I can't imagine them pushing it over the weekend.

Thanks for RR as well, and for podcast. I tune in most weeks. (I wish that X was better about reminding me that it's starting)

I’m trying to subscribe to Connect + but there is an error. They don’t want my money, apparently. And no update for me either.

For the record on the subscription, I have a Tesla and I have to pay for that data as well. There is zero reason that Rivian (or any company) should have free cellular data for life. They gave it to us for free for 1 year +. It’s an actual cellular connection with att. How could they offer that for free for an extended period. For those who don’t want to pay, they give you the option to connect to your phone’s hot spot via WiFi. I tried it today on a trip to big bear because I can’t subscribe. It worked fine.

Thats the logical response. The emotional one goes something like this:

Why do I need to subscribe to my $90,000 vehicle? That should have been baked in.

or

How many damn subscriptions do I need in my life now?

or

They didn't do Carplay because they wanted to milk more money from me.

or

They are specifically delaying this update to get more people to sign up. That's scummy.


All of those are negative.
Whats Carplay got to do with Connect+? I'd say people with an emotional response like you list will have a hard time in general in modern vehicles and in will find fault with whatever they drive. I don't have a problem with the $150/year and I cannot understand how people just expect to get unlimited free data FOREVER. The release prioritization is an added value, but not one I would spend money for independent of everything else. How many subscriptions do you need? Zero.

I did not receive the update on the first day. Lemme complain since I am a C+ sub. Would I have a better argument than those whining about not getting the VIP treatment they did not pay for? Barely, IMO.

The fact is. The OTAs are not pushed out to everyone on the same day or even week.

You just don’t know that you are a 2nd class user. Nor that Connect.+ subscribers are getting theirs ahead of any other class. And even if that were true, the easiest answer is to subscribe for those present months and then lapse. Your time to write this flame cost you more than the monthly subscription fee.
That’s nor a “flame” but a legitimate statement. Which R1 do you own?

I did not subscribe, it’s kind of annoying using my phone now. But this is 1st world problems lol. Also Connect+ subscribers can be first to update … I like that actually. A great example is that I can read all the issues that are popping up in this new update :).

So they can flush all the software bugs before i get the update :). I am always worried about the updates when I used to get them early on…. I work on software and I can tell you, it’s not really fun when you brick stuff lol

I'm a Connect+ subscriber just as angry because I am paying for priority updates and getting squat... I've reconnected wifi a couple of times, reset the truck, nothing... If you are going to list a feature of Connect+ to be getting priority updates you should put a date/time on it and hit it not leave me wondering when I might get it...

I didn't subscribe to Connect+, and I don't have the update. I'm fine with that. Connect+ subscibers should get higher priority. Would it be nice to get the Halloween stuff, sure. Am I willing to pay $15/month for it, apparently not. If Apple Music worked better, and had voice control, I would probably pay for Connect+.
