Depends on what you're listening to! I listen mostly to classical, jazz, a bit of rock, and some electronica. What seems to do best for those without micromanaging the EQ is a very gentle "U" shape, starting about 1/3rd of the way up on the 63Hz side, dipping slowly down to about 1/4 of the way down in the mids, and then coming back up to peak over the top around the 4k mark and topping out about 1/4 of the way up in the top range.
I want to be able to hear most of the range, and the sound system in the R1T is good enough that you don't need to do much there. I also want to be able to get it nice and loud without making the bass silly, which this kinda does. If you like hip hop, rnb, experimental electro, dnb, whatever, ymmv .
Play around on a track you like, see what you enjoy or even if you can tell the difference between settings. It's a pretty responsive equalizer overall.
(I think some folks were posting their settings so if you really care you can do a search maybe?)
I find the Meridians have enough bass but lacking on the clarity in the higher range. Has to do with the quality of the treble speakers, nothing you can do about that.
I’ve sent messages to my guide asking to allow us to save our own custom presets. I’d love to RTA the system to the audio I listen to, once we get access to high fidelity audio.
