@Craigins - what was the process to swing a factory pickup? Did you request it or did they proactively offer it?

My guide suggested it. I'm only 100 miles from the factory which sounded like it had something to do with it. I don't know if they actually have a "notes" section for accounts, but back in early/mid 2021 I contacted CS stating if they were offering factory pickup to make a note on my account.

If you can get factory pickup and a tour, the tour was awesome. I was surprised at how many vehicles were being produced and the level of automation they have. Truly impressive and made me feel better about my 300 shares of RIVN. Sadly no sighting of RJ, but my tour guide said he was at the plant today.

I spent a month there one week and spent over $100 for a six-pack and a box of chicken. They were still "dry" back then and you could get beer after joining a "club". I spent most of Game 6 of the infamous second-year-in-a-row of a Lakers/Celtics finals driving all over heck and back due to the dry rules they had back in the day. Good times! ?

Hoping your "configurationStatus": "SOFT_LOCKED" doesn't take as long as it took to have sensible laws about buying beer.

It was a lovely town. I just really wanted a beer!

I've only lived in SC for 9 years and it was the weirdest thing coming from Detroit in regards to alcohol. ....what do you mean I can't buy liquor in the grocery store???

I've read many comments about how awesome the factory tours are. I recently contacted CS and politely requested a factory tour. (I was thinking: Come on, Rivian, throw me a bone. I'm 42 months post-reservation and have never even received a delivery estimate.) Response from Rivian: Sorry, no factory tour. Instead, you can come to the factory and "walk around" an R1T and then "explore the lobby." Me: Thanks, but no thanks.

A rational person might conclude that Rivian wants me to cancel my pre-order.
