I recently started having this issue where when I try to turn on the outlets either by Auto or Timer, it appears to turn on for a moment but then goes back to grey. USB C ports seem to be working fine.

I’ve tried turning on from the Energy and Camp Mode page. When I try Auto, the Outlets button goes black but after a few seconds goes grey. When I try Timer, I’ll see the same
And also an outlet icon shows in the top row of the main screen but goes away after 3-5 seconds.

Have tried 2 hard resets but seeing no change in behavior. Can’t get a svc appt until Sept but currently on a camping trip so hoping there’s something I can try.

Are you tripping the breaker? Try unplugging everything before turning the outlets on.

The DC in the back appears to work, but not the AC. I did remove what I had plugged into the AC, issue persists. Is there some way to reset the breaker you mentioned?

To clarify… the DC works when the car is on. I still can’t get it to stay on after the car is off via the Outlets timed usage function. The AC plugs simply don’t work in any circumstance.

I have the same problem, from research it appears it's from one of the latest updates. I have a mobile tech arriving on the 5th to fix the issue. From what I understand it's nothing you can fix on your own and they are aware of it they just don't bother to let their customers know there maybe a problem. We had an emergency power outage and we're depending on the SUV to power the refrigerator for a day when we discovered we had no power from the outlets. When they know they created this problem with an update I can't understand why they didn't work 24/7 to pump out a new update or at least let people know they had created the issue. Oh well I'm grateful I don't have to drive 8 hours round trip to get it repaired, this time they're coming to me. So call service it's about all you can do from what I understand.

Oh interesting. I didn’t see posts about it being SW. I wonder what the mobile tech can do if it’s SW related?

I didn't see the posts about it being software either. I sounds like you've used the AC outlets before, but just to be clear: Did your AC outlets ever work, or are you just now trying them for the first time?

Mine didn't work when I bought my R1S - no error messages, I just had similar behavior to you. When I finally got it in to service, they found a bent pin on a wiring harness and replaced that.

Ok the mobile Tech arrived yesterday from Charlotte, Terry was great and very knowledgeable.
The inverter is mounted under the drivers seat, he installed a new inverter but this did not correct the problem. It turns out there is a fuse that is mounted near the main battery and can only be repaired at a service center. They are setting up a appointment for the repair. Maybe a more assessable fuse location for the inverter in future models would be a good idea. But I certainly have no complaints with the mobile service, he spent several hours and did the best that he could to solve the problem.

Had this happen on my Gen1 R1S and Gen2 R1S. Both were the fuse in the battery getting blown, and replacing the inverter.

Gen1 requires dropping the battery out for the replacement, Gen2 just requires removal of a cover. Looks like they also replaced the cover too for some reason. 13.3 hrs labor on my Gen2 though, they had to have a specialist come in to diagnose the issue.

That's wild.
Sounds like a expensive design flaw.
