Received Front parking lights not working. Service it soon.

Just received the the following error message on my 24 Gen 1 R1S “Front parking light not working. Service it soon.” I am curious if anyone else has received this error message and what the fix or outcome was or if there is something I can do to fix it as the soonest service center appointment I can get is all the way out until October.

Have you visually confirmed that the lights are not working? Any difference after a reset or sleep cycle? Any obvious damage to the vehicle? What does it say if you click "show me"?

If it were me, my next guess would be a loose wire from assembly. Not sure if you want to remove the frunk tub and investigate. As others will suggest, I'd call Rivian and explain this is a safety issue that makes the vehicle undriveable, and request a sooner date. Good luck, let us know what you find out.

Looks like the light bar does not work. No damage or anything. Was working prior to picking up my kid. Message came before driving home. Will be doing a better inspection and a reset later tonight once the weather cools down. Heat wave in California is at another level right now.

Will update once I inspect the car and get a service center on the phone tomorrow.

Sorry to hear that. Didn’t update my status on the issue but mine miraculously started to work after two days. Didn’t do anything to try to fix it as I was waiting for the Service Center to call me back. I’m sure you tried this already but the one advice the service center told me I should do next time it happens is doing a reset of the car.

Thank you for the update we had our model X do the same thing with one of its front lights and miraculously it too started to work and we didn't even do a reset. I'm headed to charge the vehicle now I will probably do a hard reset to see if that helps I need to remember to do an update on this as well

It didn't help, however there was another R1T charging, talking to the owner he said his stopped after the last update 2 weeks ago... odd.
When I got home I opened the trunk, I'll be damned if the light wasn't on. This should be fun.

I am getting the same message occasionally. It seems to fix itself after my 2022 R1T goes to sleep and then wakes up.

Same thing just happened to my ‘22 R1T earlier this week. I also noticed it started acting up after the most recent software update was installed. I’m going to try a hard reset to see if that helps. It’s interesting that the green color on the light bar still works when I lock the vehicle with the holiday jingle lock theme on. This makes me think that it’s not a hardware issue.

Fixed with reset under the service mode/RiDE menu. Oddly doing the reset via the hazard lights/left steering wheel button method didn’t fix the problem

Do you recall what you pressed in the Ride Menu to clear this error code?
